Women in Chains (known as Women's Prison in the United States) is a Paramount Pictures film released in 1971 starring Lois Nettleton, Ida Lupino and Penny Fuller.
Parole officer Sandra Parker (Lois Nettleton) becomes aware of the death of one of her cases Ginger Stratton at the hands of brutal prison guard Claire Tyson (Ida Lupino). All too aware of Tyson's impeccable record, Parker and her friend District Attorney's assistant Helen Anderson come to the conclusion that Tyson is basically untouchable.

From this moment on, Sandra bleaches her hair and gives herself some needle marks as if she were a drug addict. Also from this moment on Sandra Parker is known as Sally Porter - still portrayed by Nettleton.
Helen uses her knowledge of the DA's office to have her boss Barney Fielder (John Larch) sign the appropriate papers. Sally Porter is transported to prison, finds herself on Ginger's "ward" and begins asking questions of her other inmates.
