Jaded and detached, Johnny Skidmarks (Peter Gallagher) is a crime scene photographer who has no qualms about moonlighting as a blackmailer to earn extra cash. Johnny and his team have a lucrative business going: no one gets hurt, no questions asked, no harm done… until things start to go wrong. Once cool about everything and unaffected by all that he sees, Johnny's fortunes take a turn for the worse when his fellow conspirators in his blackmailing venture keep turning up as victims in the crime scenes he has to photograph.
