Finding good clips and info regarding these songs are hard to come by so I thought I would share and learn some Adobe Premiere at the same time. These songs were used in Terrence Malick's film, 'The Thin Red Line', arguably the greatest anti-war film ever created. The first and last renditions are featured in the film. The first three renditions are found on the no-longer-available CD "Melanesian Choirs: The Blessed Islands". The last audio clip is an orchestral rendition adapted by composer Hans Zimmer for the movie's soundtrack. To the best of my research the words to " Jisas yu holem hand blong mi" are: Jesus is watching over me; Wherever I may go he is right beside me; Jesus is watching over me; No matter what I do his love will never cease; My saviour and my keeper beside me; All the blessings he has provided me; He is there to comfort and guide me; And his love will never cease. 'Pray for Us' appears to be the same song and I suspect might even be a transcription error on the CD track list. ' God yu tekkem laef blong mi' is from the hymn ' Take My Life and Let It Be' by Frances R. Havergal, (1874): Take my life and let it be Consecrated, Lord, to Thee; Take my hands and let them move At the impulse of Thy love.
