Glenn Miller Story - String of pearls Video

Because the music in "The Glenn Miller Story" was produced in four-track stereo, the original Bluebird RCA recordings of Miller's arrangements could not be used, the Universal-International Music Department, under the guidance of Joseph Gershenson and Henry Mancici, acquired all the original manuscripts in Miller's library and copy-traced, note for note, the ad lib solos in each tune. Seven members of the original Glenn Miller Orchestra were located to become the foundation of the all-star musicians who recorded the numbers. They included Chummy MacGregor (piano), Babe Russin and Willie Schwartz (reeds), Dick Fisher (guitar), Rollie Bundock (bass), Zeke Zarchy (trumpet) and Paul Tanner (trombone).
