Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon - RG Active Video

On May 1st 2010 a small group of RG Active athlete's embarked on a journey. This journey took them all the way to San Francisco to compete in 30th Anniversary 'Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon' which is one of the most famous triathlons in the World. The race is not your standard, normal triathlon and tests the athletes abilities with a 1.5 mile swim from Alcatraz Island to the shore in rip tides and shark infested waters, then a gruelling 18 mile bike ride before finishing with a 8 mile run that incorporates the horrid 'Sand Ladder' that warrants it's own split time! The event is a real 'box ticker' and a must do for any triathlete looking for a challenge, with great weather (you hope), great atmospheres and some great goodies!
