Eddie Albert - "When You Get to Know a Fellow" - "No Man is an Island" Video
Eddie Albert reads "When You Get to Know a Fellow" (from his 1961 album of Selected Verse by Edgar A. Guest) and sings "No Man is an Island" (from his 1958 inspirational album "High Upon a Mountain"). Eddie Albert's show business career spanned 70 years and included work for stage, film, television, and the recording studio. He was also a decorated WWII hero, a famously devoted family man, and a tireless worker for charitable causes. The texts of both the poem and the song heard here are thus particularly apt. However, photos of Eddie in his roles as educator, environmentalist, and crusader against hunger are a bit scarcer than movie stills, so my slides consist mainly of the last.
