DJ Spooky "Hologrammic Dub" from Bomb the System Video

From the original motion picture "Bomb the System" (2005) This scene features Mark Webber and Gano Grills as well as a song by DJ Spooky. "I was listening to a lot of DJ Spooky at NYU and really spacing out to it. This song is my favorite. The album is highly recommended "Songs of a Dead Dreamer." We cut this into the film and EL P saw it and was like 'this scene is sick I have to do a piece of score here, take that Spooky track out.' So he went and made the most amazing song in the movie. But I thought it was so good it needed to be heard in its entirety so I put it at the end credits. This scene was supposed to be (in the script) a series of still images. But our DP Ben Kutchins suggested just shooting it on film and pulling out the frash flames. Genius idea. Then Jay Rabinowitz cut on the flash frames. Another Genius idea. It was my idea to put a broken glass sound on the puke part. I don't know why, I just thought it would fit and be weird and cool. This is probably my favorite scene in the movie and the one I'm most proud of. We shot it in Chinatown, in an alley down where the Chinatown bus comes in. There used to be a dope bar there called FUN. Graffiti writers told me, in Chinatown nobody cares if you do graffiti. The police, or the people who live there. I don't know if that's true but at the time it was and no one bothered us in this part of town at all. It was the best place to shoot a film. Maybe that's why Aronofsky shot Pi there?"
