BETTE DAVIS "WATCHER IN THE WOODS" CREEPY TV COMMERCIAL RARE Video
In honor of the 30th Anniversary of its original pre-release, here is a rare, ultra-creepy TV spot from the out-of-print 2002 Anchor Bay DVD of The Watcher In The Woods, a footnote in film history as Walt Disney Pictures first horror movie and Bette Daviss last one. The film did not break new commercial ground for the studio when it opened in October 1981, several months after Bette Davis Eyes stormed the US pop charts, but as a successful home video it would introduce the children of the 80s to The First Lady Of the American Screen in one of her final non-television film appearances. The movie is also infamous to much of the said generation for its unexpectedly traumatic effect on youngsters in the early days of the VHS era! This TV spot, conspicuously missing from theWalt Disney Co. re-release of the DVD of the film, attests to its enduring spookiness! VIVA LA BETTE!
