(make sure you select 'watch in high quality') Hi. This is my final film for 16mm Production 2, fall semester 2008 at Columbia College. I shot this in one cold day in Chinatown with a bolex. It was just me and my actors for about half the shoot, until my assistant camera operator arrived. All the exterior footage was shot on 7217 200 ASA kodak film using available light. The grocery store scene was shot with 7218 500 ASA, using only the available fluorescents, hence the grain and greenish look. For the interiors, also shot with 7217 200 ASA, I was able to get a couple of lights, I believe they are about 750W Tungsten balanced. Hope you enjoy all the handheld shots, didn't have much time for a tripod. It was cold, rainy, windy and snowy. The story involves some young men stealing alcohol and fighting over a girl. I named all the characters after the people from 'Metropolitan'. The music was lovingly borrowed from Black Moth Super Rainbow, Matthew Dear, and M83, all amazing artists.
