Around the World in 80 Days - Until the End of Time Video

The masterful (and faithful) re-telling of Jules Verne's classic "Around the World in 80 Days", which aired as a mini-series on television in 1989, starring Pierce Brosnan, Eric Idle, Peter Ustinov, and Julia Nickson. If you haven't seen this mini-series, please watch it!! It's the perfect embodiment of Jules Verne's novel, and any additions they made really improved on the story. Plus, take a look at the cast! Eric Idle as Passepartout (perfect), Peter Ustinov as Detective Fix (LOVE HIM), and the graceful Julia Nickson captures the Princess Aouda beautifully. Pierce Brosnan IS Phileas Fogg -- straight from the book, the quintessential English gentleman! I'm guessing this is one of his earliest roles and he is absolutely the perfect fit for Mr. Fogg. The locations are wonderful for a miniseries; you get the full range of all the continents. This inspired my imagination as a child and I am very happy to introduce this series to you, if you have not already watched it. The entire miniseries is over 200 minutes long, I forget precisely. STORYLINE: "Phileas Fogg accepts a wager to prove his contention that a man can go around the world in 80 days. After betting his entire fortune, he takes his new butler (a man hoping for a quiet life) on a tour of the world.
