Steve prefontaine was an american long distance legend who set numerous american records and was going for the olympic gold when he died in a fatal car accident in the mid 70's. He helped set the running boom which caused Nike to become one of the wealthiest companies to this day. Pre wore the very first nike's which were made on a waffle iron by bill bowermen.
