Gramps tells his grandson about the other Santa... Bad Santa. Not some Billy Bob Thornton ripoff, but the REAL Bad Santa. ---- Side note: I had a jacked up childhood to one degree or another (Can you say Jehovah's Witness from 12 to 20?). My son, now 22 was nearly three before he celebrated Christmas. I never told my children there was a REAL Santa Claus. In fact I told them that he was as real as Bugs Bunny. By the time my oldest was about five I started telling them about "Bad Santa" his story was much more fun. This had to be at least 10 years before Billy Bob Thornton's movie. Bad Santa got my son a BB gun when he was 8 years old... Still, with my telling them that Santa wasn't real, they believed in him just the same. Something about peer pressure and the power of TV. I have another video I'm going to upload shortly, taken in 1997, of me sitting my 10, 8 and 4 year old down trying to debunk Santa. ---- Check out the brief video of me debunking Santa Claus to my kids in 1997 www.youtube.com ---- Animation notes: Done with toonboom4.5 and edited in adobe premiere. I started this in June for a contest, then decided not to enter the contest when I found out there couldn't be references to "other characters". The project was shelved for nearly four months before I picked it back up. I really counsel against letting a project lay fallow for so long. In the meantime I had improved my techniques and the Gramps character, but was locked into an older format.
