A Few Last Words with George Carlin and Tony Hendra: Exploding Sun Video
www.georgecarlin.com Never before heard conversations between the late, great George Carlin and his friend and co-author, Tony Hendra. George Carlin We came from Hawaii once after all that cocaine and my mother and everything. I woke up one morning, and you know in Hawaii the air is very clear and the sun stands out as a disc. Now we get back to Pacific Palisades, and part of the time because of the marine layer of clouds, if theyre thin enough the sun is a little, almost detectable, and I woke up the day after Hawaii, accustomed to seeing the sun a certain way, and full of cocaine, and the aftermath, ya know waking up theres still a lot of it engrained in the fat cells, and I look up and I see what looks like the sun and I decided it has exploded. I say, I get Brenda up and I say Brenda, get Kelly, the sun has exploded and we only have 8 minutes to live, and this is probably the end of the world. And Brenda said, Ya know, maybe youre not right. I said, Wait a minute. I call Joe Belardino, Joe Belardino is a guy whos been traveling with me on the road, big pothead all his life. So I call him up in Sacramento and I say, Joe, will you go out and take a look at the sun and tell me if the sun has exploded, I said Go outside and take a look, would ya? He said, Hold on a minute, man. And he came back and he said, No looks ok up here. That was a great example of what a brain does.
