Victims Family is a hardcore punk band formed in 1984 in Santa Rosa, California by bassist Larry Boothroyd and guitarist and vocalist Ralph Spight. Drummer Devon VrMeer completed the trio. Their sound blended punk, heavy metal and jazz, making them difficult to categorize into a single genre. leaving behind a burn scar on the ground and in the hearts of residents. we talked with them and have their emotional reaction in a live report. we begin our fire watch coverage this afternoon with the latest on the massive las conchas fire. an update this morning shows that fire has grown to nearly 128-thousand acres and remains 27-percent contained. and right now... after nearly a week of unanswered questions ... those who lost their homes to minute thumbnail 12:00 pm the fire in cochiti mesa -- are getting an up-close look at what's left behind. sharon erickson just spoke with people returning home. she's live near cochiti mesa on the firewatch. sharon? antoinette... we talked with some residents who are heading into cochiti mesa to see their homes for the first time. many of them tell us they don't expect ot find anything left. this is chopper video we took shortly after the las conchas fire burned 15 homes on june 26th. today... land owners met at the bonco benito staging area where they were escorted by sandoval county sheriffs and firefighters. the area is still considered hazardous so they were driven to the burned area in government vehicles. we talked to one man who says he's not expecting to salvage anything from his cabin he built by hand 12-years ago. "they've flown over the canyon thursday morning and everything was destroyed.. it's pretty devastating" "what are you expecting to find?" "my minute thumbnail 12:01 pm understanding is.. it's just ash"
