Big Brother 12 was the 12th season of the American reality television series Big Brother. The HouseGuests moved into the Big Brother House on July 3, 2010 and the season premiered on July 8, 2010. The show was broadcast on CBS and Showtime 2 for 75 days, concluding on September 15, 2010 when Hayden Moss was crowned the winner with four votes from the jury. The format of the program remained largely unchanged from previous seasons: a group of contestants, referred to as HouseGuests, are enclosed in the Big Brother House under the surveillance of cameras and microphones. Each week the HouseGuests will vote to evict one of their own until two HouseGuests remain on finale night. The highlight programs are announced by Clayton A.S. Halsey. Julie Chen hosts the season premiere, evictions and the season finale. The program includes 13 participants whose fate in the House is decided by their peers. Originally, 14 participants were due to enter, but one voluntarily left during the pre-season sequester period and wasn't replaced. The HouseGuests compete to win a $500,000 prize, with a $50,000 prize offered to the runner-up. One of the HouseGuests, known as the Big Brother Saboteur, had the goal to disrupt life in the House and cause as much havoc as possible. Annie Whittington, the initial Big Brother Saboteur, did not compete for the grand prize but could have won $50,000 if she completed five weeks of sabotage without being evicted. Whittington was the first houseguest evicted and did not win the $50,000 prize. However, on Day 34, a new Saboteur, Ragan Fox, was chosen by the voting public. The new Saboteur was instructed to perform three acts of sabotage per week for two weeks and was told that if he survived two weeks as the Saboteur, he would receive $20,000.
