The Prius α is offered in the Japanese market with a nickel-metal hydride battery at a price of ¥2.35 million, and the lithium-ion battery version is expected to sell for ¥3 million. The Prius v base price in the U.S. starts at US$26,400 and is offered only with a nickel-metal hydride battery.
