Cecil Antonio "Tony" Richardson was an English theatre and film director and producer. He was married to Vanessa Redgrave from 1962 until 1969, with whom he had his two daughters: Natasha and Joely Richardson. He had a five-decade film career. In 1964 he won the Academy Award for Best Director for the film Tom Jones. He died from AIDS at 63 in 1991.
