Steven Spielberg's first theatrical film, and well worth watching. All the acting is remarkable, but it is Spielberg's gifted technique that shines through. Makes one wish Spielberg would just go out and make a smaller film again. Also noteworthy as the first time he worked with producers Richard Zanuck and David Brown, a relationship which led to something with a lot of bite.
