The film marks the return of Martha Coolidge to the big screen after a 7 year absence, and her service as the first female president of the Directors Guild of America. It also features a cameo by Eddie Irvine, a retired Irish Formula One driver. The film has three sequels, starring Kam Heskin for the part of Paige Morgan instead of Julia Stiles: The Prince and Me 2: The Royal Wedding in 2006, The Prince and Me 3: Royal Honeymoon in 2008 and The Prince and Me 4: The Elephant Adventure in 2009.
