Terence Yin Chi Wai (Chinese: 尹子維; pinyin: Yǐn Zǐwéi; Cantonese Yale: Wan Jiwai; born May 19, 1975) is a Chinese film actor, singer, producer and media relations. Yin has starred in over 30 movies, released one solo album and is presently residing in Hong Kong.
Yin was born in Hong Kong to top 60's-70's Shaw Brothers Studios actress Jenny Hu and director Kang Wei. He has one older brother, Christopher Yin. Graduating from Mark Keppel High School in 1993, he attended UC Berkeley and graduated with a Philosophy (Rhetorics) degree in 1997.
Terence made his film debut in Yonfan's 1998 film Bishonen opposite Daniel Wu, one of his close friends and frequent collaborators. Terence has also released a solo album in Taiwan in 1999 titled Undecided, which met with limited success. He did not return to singing until 2005.
In 2005, Terence, along with Daniel Wu, Conroy Chan, and Andrew Lin formed a boyband experiment named Alive.
