Susie Garrett (December 29, 1929 – May 24, 2002) was an American actress, best known for playing "Mrs. Betty Johnson" on the TV series Punky Brewster from 1984 to 1988. Garrett had an associate's degree in psychology from Shaw College. She was the older sister of Marla Gibbs. Together, they co-founded the Crossroads Art Academy acting school in Los Angeles. Garrett had an associate's degree in psychology from Shaw College. She was the older sister of Marla Gibbs. Together, they co-founded the Crossroads Art Academy acting school in Los Angeles. Garrett died of cancer at Providence Hospital in Southfield, Michigan, on May 24, 2002, aged 72. She is interred at Woodlawn Cemetery. LESS
