He made his debut with the Telugu film Pranam Khareedu in 1978. He has portrayed diverse roles ranging from an earthly scavenger to a princely Duryodhana. His role in Aha Naa Pellanta, Pratighatana, Gaayam, Shatruvu, Govinda Govinda, and Hello Brother are highly acclaimed. He made his debut in Tamil film Saamy as a suave villain. He played an excellent negative role named Saniyan Saggadi in the Tamil film Thirupaachi. He delivered remarkable performances in Sadhu Mirandha and Satyam. He has acted in nearly 650 films.
