The old fashioned is arguably the first cocktail created. It consists of a spirit, water, sugar and bitters, which means it is open to a great deal of interpretation. Switch out the spirit, change up the bitters, use a different type of sugar or sweetener; it is up to you. You will still have an old fashioned!
