Salvatore "Sol" Polito, A.S.C. (November 12, 1892 — May 23, 1960) was an Academy Award nominated cinematographer. Born in Palermo, Sicily, Polito immigrated to the United States at an early age. Polito married his wife, Frances. Their son, Gene Polito, also became a cinematographer. Polito moved from Brooklyn, New York to Los Angeles in 1919 to continue his cinematography career at Warner Brothers Studios.
