Jazz trumpeter Miles Davis performed on the score for the film, Music from Siesta, which was written and arranged by frequent Davis collaborator Marcus Miller. Film critic Janet Maslin called it an "excitingly bad, artily experimental film". The film performed poorly at the box office.
