She is best known for starring in the 2002 film Blue Crush, but she also wrote a book, Surfer Girl: A Guide To The Surfing Life. Her name "Sànoe" means "Mist of the Mountains." Lake appeared in the films Rolling, Half-Life, and Hunter's Moon. She also played in the video of Jam & Spoon "Stella" (1999 version).
