In October 2009, Jones was taken into custody by Drug Enforcement Administration agents on charges of drug trafficking. He was charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute. On December 16, 2010, Jones pleaded guilty to conspiracy to sell more than 10,000 oxycodone pills. Jones was the "Hollywood connection" in a plot to illegally purchase and distribute the drug, according to documents filed in U.S. District Court. Jones faced up to 20 years in federal prison.
