Sam J. Jones is the stage name of Samuel Gerald Jones (born August 12, 1954), an American actor also credited as Sam Jones.
Jones was born in Chicago, Illinois and grew up in Sacramento, California. He is a 1972 graduate of Mira Loma High School in Sacramento.
He made his first film appearance opposite Bo Derek in the 1979 romance comedy film 10.

Although Sam's career never again hit the heights of Flash Gordon, he continued to star in several straight to video movies such as Silent Assassins, Driving Force, Jane and the Lost City, American Tigers, Fist of Honor, a supporting role in cult classic One Man Force (which starred former NFL star John Matuszak), and b-movie classic White Force. Sam's populairity was in part due to his good looks, his rugged voice and his insistence at performing his own stunt work.
