Biography: Rossy de Palma is a Spanish actress. Described by many as a Picasso come-to-life, de Palma broke the rules of beauty in 1988 when she starred in Pedro Almodóvar’s Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown and became a model and muse for designers like Jean-Paul Gaultier, Thierry Mugler, and Sybilla. Her status as an iconic fashion character was further cemented with her role in Robert Altman’s 1994 satirical fashion film Prêt-à-Porter. Today, she is a theater actress, charity spokesperson and the face of luxury ad campaigns. Born in Palma de Mallorca, she was originally a singer and dancer for the band Peor Imposible before being discovered by filmmaker Pedro Almodóvar at a café in Madrid in 1986. He cast her in roles based on her unique, Picassoesque appearance. She is best known for her roles in Almodóvar films like La ley del deseo, Kika, Mujeres al borde de un ataque de nervios and La flor de mi secreto. She acts in France and does modeling. She appeared in Robert Altman's Prêt-à-Porter as Pilar. In 2007, she released a perfume line under her name through the French cosmetics company Etat Libre d'Orange. In 2009, she posed nude in an information campaign on breast cancer for the magazine Marie-Claire. She currently lives in France with her two sons. LESS
Yannick Aellen -- The catwalk crooner On August 6th, 2010, "Dark Crooning", an electro pop EP (3 tracks) will be released as the first in a series of four from Yannick Aellen on DSQT. Made between Liverpool, London, Zurich and Berlin, this first EP contains rather dark, electronic pop songs. "The devil (is a woman I never slept with)", which is vaguely reminiscent of Depeche Mode, has already become the catwalk song and favourite of Berlin fashion label Kaviar Gauche. Yannick Aellen's music has long since been a standard for British-Taiwanese label Victim by Mei Hui Liu. Yannick Aellen has already provided management, casting, choreography and creative support for various fashion labels and events (Louis Vuitton, Miu Miu, Todd Lynn, Stella/Swiss Textiles Award, etc.) as well as for stars such as Rossy de Palma, Vanessa Paradis, Patrick Wolf or Luke Evans. As a singer-songwriter, Aellen has been making music for several years with various respected artists and bands. The cult ballad "Beyond the moon" made with the London-based band Alf is certainly to be mentioned. "Dark Crooning" has been mastered by Nilesh Patel (Björk, Daft Punk and many more) in the Exchange Mastering Studios in London and will be released on August 6th, 2010. The art work and photography are made by Adrian Ehrat (Vogue Hommes International) and ...
