Richard Steinmetz (born February 16, 1959, in Chicago, Illinois) is an American actor. In May 2004, Steinmetz joined the cast of Passions as Martin Fitzgerald, the long-missing patriarch of the Lopez-Fitzgerald family. In September 2006, Steinmetz was dropped to recurring status on Passions and subsequently left the show. A native of Chicago, his father was a cop on the South Side; Steinmetz graduated from high school in Federal Way, a suburb of Seattle, and played professional soccer for the Portland Timbers.
