Rachel Shelley (born on 25 August 1969) is an English actress and model. She was born in Swindon, England and graduated from Sheffield University with a B.A. Hons in English and Drama. Along with four friends from the university, she set up The Crowded Theatre in Sheffield, which ran for a year.
Best known for playing Helena Peabody in the Showtime hit series The L Word. Among many roles she played Elizabeth Russell in the Oscar nominated Bollywood film Lagaan. Apart from acting, Shelley has written articles for The Guardian newspaper.
