Putter Smith (born Patrick Smith on January 19, 1941, in California) is an American jazz bassist, recording artist, music teacher, author, and retired actor. Smith is perhaps best known for his movie role as assassin, Mr. Kidd, played alongside Mr. Wint (Bruce Glover), in the 1971 James Bond movie, Diamonds Are Forever, starring Sean Connery as 007.
