Cody, a 20-year-old science whiz creates a machine in his garage with which he hopes to revive his deceased parents. The machine, of course, works but with unintended side effects. Much of the film is concerned with Cody's desire to pursue the perfection of his machine, usually at the cost of shirking his responsibilities to his dependent little brother, James. This theme of responsibility, both to one's own goals and to the needs of others is a recurring one throughout the film. Phasma Ex Machina is the first production of Hodag Films. It is an independent film, produced within the Twin Cities (Minneapolis and St. Paul) of Minnesota and the surrounding areas.
