Lipton was married to music industry mogul Quincy Jones from 1974 to 1990, with whom she has two daughters, Rashida Jones, and Kidada Jones. Lipton signed with the Ford Modeling Agency and enjoyed a successful career. In 1964 her family moved to Los Angeles and she signed a contract with Universal Pictures the same year.
