Paul Cassell’s professional acting career began the day after graduating from Boston University’s School of Fine Arts, when he got the first commercial he auditioned for, for Levi’s 501. Paul Cassell’s professional acting career began the day after graduating from Boston University’s School of Fine Arts, when he got the first commercial he auditioned for, for Levi’s 501. Shortly thereafter, he moved to NY and immediately immersed himself in the off off Broadway theater scene, helping found The Seraphim Theater company with Gil Bellows (Ally McBeal) and Vincent Angell (Co Creator of The Beast on A&E). With Seraphim (and under the tutelage of acclaimed acting teacher Wynn Handman) Paul developed his One Man Show, Cripples and Kings, and performed in many productions and readings. A co-starring role in Adrienne Shelly’s directorial debut, Sudden Manhattan, followed. Paul made the move to Los Angeles in 1996 where guest star roles came quickly, (initially on sitcoms) notably the recurring role of Flip on Suddenly Susan with Brooke Shields. More recently Cassell has focused on dramas, recurring on ABC’s Boston Legal,Brothers and Sisters, In Plain Sight and The Mentalist.
