It is one of the primary cultural centers of the San Gabriel Valley. Although famous for hosting the annual Rose Bowl football game and Tournament of Roses Parade, Pasadena is also the home to many scientific and cultural institutions, including the California Institute of Technology, the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena City College, Fuller Theological Seminary, Art Center College of Design, the Pasadena Playhouse, the Norton Simon Museum of Art and the Pacific Asia Museum. AT&T; Aspire Awards Pasadena Educational Foundation Following a nationwide, highly rigorous and competitive process, Pasadena Educational Foundation was recently awarded a $300000 contribution from AT&T; in recognition of its success and effectiveness in preparing students for success for college, apprenticeships and other postsecondary programs. The educational funding will support the Pasadena Unified School District's College and Career Pathways. By spring 2013, students within College & Career Pathways in PUSD high schools will participate in at least one work-based learning opportunity to demonstrate the importance of career exploration. The App Academy features courses and projects in mobile applications, web applications, and game development. The App Academy gives students exceptional problem-solving techniques, the ability to properly manage their time in a rigorous educational program, and the self-belief to succeed in future academic and professional aspirations in any field. Pasadena Educational Foundation is one of 47 recipients nationwide that will share in nearly $10 million from AT&T.; With more than one million students impacted since its launch in 2008, the AT&T; Aspire program is one of the largest corporate commitments focused on helping more students graduate from high school ready for college and careers.
