MORE Paragliding is the recreational and competitive adventure sport of flying paragliders: lightweight, free-flying, foot-launched glider aircraft with no rigid primary structure. The pilot sits in a harness suspended below a hollow fabric wing whose shape is formed by its suspension lines, the pressure of air entering vents in the front of the wing and the aerodynamic forces of the air flowing over the outside. Despite not using an engine, paraglider flights can last many hours and cover many hundreds of kilometres, though flights of 1–2 hours and covering some tens of kilometres are more the norm. By skilful exploitation of sources of lift the pilot may gain height, often climbing to altitudes of a few thousand metres. Paragliders are unique among soaring aircraft in being easily portable. The complete equipment packs into a rucksack and can be carried easily on the pilot's back, in a car, or on public transport. In comparison with other air sports this substantially simplifies travel to a suitable takeoff spot, the selection of a landing place and return travel. Paragliding is related to the following activities: ⁕Hang gliding is a close cousin, and hang glider and paraglider launches are often found in proximity. Despite the considerable difference in equipment the two activities offer similar pleasures and some pilots are involved in both sports. LESS |
My Tribute To Paragliding |

This is my tribute to this great sport called paragliding...Two years ago i decided to start with flying a paraglider but i was really afraid of heights so i had a big problem...my plan was to start out with ground handling and first trying to be a master in that before i took off in the air...my plan worked out and i was feeling quite comfortable the first few flights that i made because i really was in full control. Now i can say that bit by bit i finally conquered my fears of heights, for me this was a great feeling and boosted my self esteem to higher levels ;P after a friend showed me how to manage the glider in the beginning i spend some time learning myself to fly at the dunes here in The Netherlands...my passion for this great sport is still growing day by day and i can't stop watching video's about flying since. This short video i recently made has been shot at the dunes here in The Netherlands and i hope you enjoy it as much as i like flying. ! This is my Tribute to the Paragliding sport. If you stay focused and put some effort in it and stick to your plan anyone can fulfill their dreams. My dream of flying through the air has finally come true ! more to come soon ;) Ever since we were little children we all have had dreams, wishes and wants in our lives, but what is the real secret, and how do you achieve your dreams? These are the questions that may stop most of us in life. We all want to achieve our dreams and set goals for ourselves, but it seems many of us are not willing to go that extra mile to accomplish that goal and make your dreams come true. Achieving your dreams in life can be difficult for many of us, but if you continue to think positive, have much motivation and determination, setting the goals you wish to achieve, you will in time achieve those dreams that you had when you were younger and also now as a older and wiser adult.Cast: RobbyCrashTags: Paragliding, Lighthouse, Dunes, Soaring, Dune Flying, Parapente, RobbyCrash, RockStock, Tribute to paragliding and Ozone R11
