Olga Merediz (born February 15, 1956) is an American Broadway, TV, and film actress. Merediz is probably best known for originating the role of Abuela Claudia in the Broadway musical In the Heights. She played the role for the show's entire Broadway run.
Merediz was born in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba but raised in Puerto Rico; her parents were Cuban refugees.
In addition to In the Heights, Broadway credits include Reckless, Man of La Mancha, and Les Misérables. She also appeared as Rosie in Mamma Mia!. Merediz has appeared off-Broadway in Women Without Men, The Human Comedy, and The Taming of... MORE

Merediz appeared with Jim Carrey in Mr. Popper's Penguins, John Leguizamo in Fugly, Meryl Streep in Music of the Heart, Madonna in Evita, Kevin Spacey in K-Pax, and Samuel L.
