When fully recovered she wrote a book on physical exercises titled Margarita Rosa físicamente, ejercicios y nutrición. De Francisco started as a model doing commercials for small businesses until she got selected to participate in Miss Colombia and pinned a second place that allowed her to participate in Miss World 1985.
