Alexandra L. "Lexa" Doig (born 8 June 1973) is a Canadian actress. She portrayed the role of Rommie in the science fiction TV series Andromeda, and had a recurring character (Carolyn Lam) on Stargate SG-1.
At 16, Doig enrolled in a modelling course and was immediately offered representation by an agent. She did commercials and model work before dropping out of high school during her final year to pursue an acting career. At 16, Doig enrolled in a modelling course and was immediately offered representation by an agent. She did commercials and model work before dropping out of high school during her final year to pursue an acting career. She worked on stage productions of Romeo and Juliet and Arsenic and Old Lace while auditioning for film and television roles including the role of Anne Lindsay in Highlander: The Series. Her first acting role was in The Hidden Room and her first movie role was in Jungleground opposite Roddy Piper. Her first significant role, however, was on William Shatner's series TekWar. Doig played "Cowgirl", a specialist in tracking and obtaining information from the net. She said, "I walked out of the audition absolutely convinced I had blown it, and then my agent called to tell me I got the part. I was leaping around my parents' house and screaming at the top of my lungs. I knew then I'd chosen the right profession and I've never looked back since."
