Krzysztof Majchrzak (born 2 March 1948) is a Polish film actor. His first part in a major production was in Andrzej Wajda's The Promised Land (1975). He has appeared in 30 films since 1975. War torn Bosnia, 1995 – Vlado is one of thousands of children caught in the middle of conflict. His parents are dead and the boy has been left to fend for himself. When the misery around him becomes overwhelming, Vlado drifts into a fantasy where he's transported to Norway and frolics with friendly Eskimos. Vlado meets Sharkey (Bob Hoskins), who claims to be a caseworker for UNICEF. Actually, Sharkey is rounding up children for a black market adoption ring. As they struggle to get out of the country and fight to stay alive, the two become unlikely friends.
