Janet McTeer, OBE (born 8 May 1961) is an English actress. McTeer was born in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, the daughter of Jean (née Morris) and Alan McTeer, and spent her childhood in York. She made her screen debut in Half Moon Street, a 1986 film based on a novel by Paul Theroux.
