Jarell Damonte Houston (born August 11, 1985), better known as J-Boog, is an American R&B singer, rapper, and actor. His stage name came from his grandmother calling him "Boogie" because of his love of dancing, and the J is simply the initial of his first name. He is a former member of R&B group B2K. He is also the cousin of Marques Houston.
J-Boog was born in Inglewood, California, raised in Compton, California, and has been rapping, singing, dancing since the age of eight.
J-Boog was a member of the boy group B2K, along with Lil' Fizz, Raz-B, and Omarion.

In 2004, J-Boog and Lil' Fizz started their own record label called Fizz & Boog Inc.
Houston, Frederic and Damuer Leffridge launched Popular Entertainment in 2008. Which was scheduled to release his first solo album, My First Words, in the summer of 2008. On September 4, 2009, Boog and Fizz premiered a new video titled Bounce on 106 & Park.
