Shore is a three-time winner of the Academy Award, and has also won three Golden Globe Awards and four Grammy Awards. He is the uncle of film composer Ryan Shore. Shore serves on the Board of Trustees at his alma mater, Berklee College of Music. Shore was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, the son of Bernice (née Ash) and Mac Shore.
