He joined Vancouver's University of British Columbia faculty in 1964. In several anime, his character voices are grandpa characters like Kagome's grandfather in InuYasha and Shinnosuke's grandpa in Ranma ½. His only live-action appearance was in the 1994 direct-to-video comedy film Ernest Goes to School.
