On Guiding Light, Dennehy played the original adult version of Blake Marler (the character was first seen as a child) beginning in 1988, but she left the show after only one year after she was constantly mistaken for Glenn Close with whom Dennehy bears a strong resemblance. Dennehy said the resemblance hurt her career as the movie Fatal Attraction (1987), in which Close played an obsessed, knife-wielding psychopath, was hugely popular at the time. LESS
