On May 25, 2009, he was replaced by John Stackhouse. Greenspon is a former managing editor of the Globe's Report on Business Section and was the Globe's Ottawa bureau chief before becoming editor-in-chief. He was the founding editor of globeandmail.com. He is the father of three children: Bailey, Joshua and Jacob. In February 2009, his son Jacob was pushed onto a subway track by a random attacker in a well publicized incident in Toronto. His son survived with injuries, losing some toes. LESS |

a man accused in a violent los lunas robbery is in jail tonight after an 8 hour stand-off with albuqurque police. now los lunas police are saying the human-shield vakei robinson is accused of taking during the robbery -- was actually his girlfriend. eddie garcia joins us live in los lunas with the details. police say it is possible that the woman working here was involved in the crime, but right now she's not facing any charges. police say this security video from saturday night shows the first vakei robinson bashing out the window at the del taco drive thru. police say he held several employees at gunpoint using his girlfriend, an employee, as a human shield. then they say he stole a car. some of the things in the video didn't make sense. the female employee was actually the 3rd choice for the hostage. two other girls - one was pregnant, another one said i can't go i have children and she sort of volunteered so that was a red flag. investigators say there are signs of an inside job. when the money was being taken from the cash registers - she sort of assisted with the money in helping it into the backpack. he got away that night. today albuquerque police cornered him in a stand-off at a relative's house near 114th and central. our camera was rolling as he was brought into valencia county where he is being held on several charges including armed robbery and felony assault. investigators say information gathered from robinson's girlfriend tled them to where he was hiding out in albuquerque. police think he robbed an albuquerque gas station. this is the costume he wore at the giant in albuquerque. so he had two separate costumes and committed the crime within 23 hours of one another on august 6th. police say if they find the del taco robbery was an inside job - they will charge the woman and drop that kidnapping charge against robinson. we've been doing some digging - and found this is not the first time robinson has been in the news for violent crime. at six we dive into his wrap sheet and find out why such a dangerous man was out to begin with
