David Huffman (1945–1985) was a character actor with many television, film and stage credits. He was married to award winning casting director Phyllis Huffman until he was murdered in 1985.
Huffman was murdered by a thief in San Diego, California. After bringing cookies to a wrap party for the show Of Mice and Men at the Old Globe Theatre, he spotted and chased the thief (who had broken into a Canadian couple's motor-home) into a Balboa Park canyon. After bringing cookies to a wrap party for the show Of Mice and Men at the Old Globe Theatre, he spotted and chased the thief (who had broken into a Canadian couple's motor-home) into a Balboa Park canyon. The murderer, an illegal alien from Mexico named Genaro Samano Villanueva and a student from San Diego High School, was sentenced to 26 years in prison in 1986.
