For several years, Clemens was Warners' "B" unit, directing up to five pictures per year. He was responsible for the studio's quartet of Nancy Drew films, all made between 1938 and 1939 and all starring Bonita Granville. William Clemens also helmed series entries for other studios in the 1940s, directing four of RKO's Falcon flicks and closing out his career with the Columbia "Whistler" entry The Thirteenth Hour (1947). ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi LESS |
