American screenwriter Tom J. Geraghty established his reputation with such ebullient Douglas Fairbanks vehicles as When the Clouds Roll By (1919) and The Mollycoddle (1922). Often employed at Paramount in the 1920s, Geraghty collaborated on the screenplays of the 1926 W.C. Fields starrer It's the Old Army Game (which he also edited) and the 1927 Wallace Beery-Raymond Hatton laugh-spinner Fireman Save My Child (1927). He made a smooth transition to talkies in 1928, supplying dialogue for the sound sequences in Weary River (1928). His later talkie credits included the Douglas Fairbanks romp Mr. Robinson Crusoe (1932), the Joe E. Brown baseball comedy Elmer the Great (1933), and the first British Technicolor feature, Wings of the Morning (1937). Tom J.
